Important Information Regarding COVID-19

In light of the rapidly changing COVID-19 environment, we would like to remind you that the safety and well-being of our patients and our community is our top priority. Our health and safety procedures at Austin Perio Health have always been strict. We will continue to follow guidelines from the American Dental Association (ADA), Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO) to ensure your safe care. This includes exceeding the routine disinfection of all frequently touched surfaces in the workplace.
At this time, at the recommendation of American Dental Association and in corroboration with many of our area colleagues, Austin Perio Health will only treat the following patients: 1) those with dental emergencies, 2) surgical post-operative patients (case by case), 3) patients in moderate to severe pain. This protocol is planned for the period of 3/18/2020 through 4/1/2020. We will routinely re-evaluate this protocol as new federal, state, and local developments arise. If you a patient who fits into one of the above categories, please also consider our additional office policies below.
Appointment Confirmation: We kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment if you or anyone in your household has one of the following symptoms or conditions:
    -Fever of 100.4 oF or higher
    -Cough and/or sore throat
    -Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
    -Known exposure to a person diagnosed with Coronavirus
    -High-risk category patients (heart, lung, diabetes) or any other immunocompromise

We request that you wait to reschedule until you have been symptom-free for a period of 14 days.
Patient Check-in: Please use the sink in our hall bathroom to wash you hands with soap and water immediately prior to entering the office. We will be refraining from polite hand shaking for new and existing patients. Upon check-in, your temperature will be taken with an infrared temporal thermometer. If you have a fever of 100 oF or higher, your appointment will be rescheduled.
Extra Family, Parents, & Drivers: To protect all patients, please come to your appointment alone, unless you are being sedated and require a driver. If your appointment requires a driver or for our younger patients who need a parent, we allow only 1 guest per patient.
